Kent Junior League

Herne Bay Swimming Club took a team of 29 Swimmers aged 9 to 13 to complete in the second round of the Kent Junior League at Eltham Sports Centre on Saturday 6th September.The team were missing some key swimmers so several of the younger members had to swim extra events in older age groups and there were four swimmers competing for the first time. It was a brilliant team atmosphere and the swimmers were a great credit to the club with their positive attitude throughout.
The team did really well with individual first places for Ella Walton (10yr, 50m Backstroke), Gabriella Rothman (10yr 50m Breaststroke), Emmett Holdsworth (10yr 50m Breaststroke), Lewis Douglas (11yr 50m Backstroke), Tilly Compton (11yr 50m Fly) and Zack Rothman (13yr 100m IM and 100m Fly),
The 11 year and 13 year old boys' relay teams won both of their events (Charley Langford, Lewis Douglas, Freddie Wright, Ryan Herlihy, Oliver Carmen, Thomas House, Owen Head, Chase Butcher, Zack Rothman) and the 9/10 year old girls' team won the Freestyle relay event (Ella Walton, Gabriella Rothman, Scarlett Langford, Emily Burne).
The Squadron team were a very close second place in the final 8 length freestyle relay and we definitely had the loudest supporters !
The final gala of the Kent Junior League will be in November when final placings in the 17 team league will be announced.

13 Years: Imogen Douglas, Ruby Cunningham, Ellie Smith, Mia Lamb, Chase Butcher, Zack Rothman.
