Herne Bay Swimming Club had a very successful weekend at The Ice Breaker Gala in Canterbury.  This was the final opportunity of the season for swimmers to qualify for the 2015 Kent County Championships.  HBSC took a team of 19 swimmers aged 9 to 18 to this 2 day event.

Team captain Jordan Butler won gold and broke the club record for the 100m Backstroke in a time of 1.01.46.  He then went on to take 4 silver medals and a bronze.  

14 year old Samantha Goodwin took gold in the 200m breaststroke plus a silver and a bronze. 11 year old Charley Langford took gold in the 200m Backstroke as well as a silver medal. 16 year old Connor Reynolds took gold in the 200m Butterfly and 16 year old Chloe Gambrill brought home a silver.  Zack Rothman took 2 bronze medals and 9 year olds Jake Alberga and Scarlett Langford took bronze in the 50 metres freestyle, both qualifying for the Kent Championships.

Finalist medals went to Connor Reynolds, Josh Dunk, Chloe Gambrill, Ethan Bexley, Tilly Compton, Charley Langford, Zack Rothman, Oliver Edwards, Owen Hayes and Niall Beaumont.

Herne Bay now has 22 swimmers with qualifying times for the Kent Championships which will be held in February and March.
