Welcome to Herne Bay Lifeguard & Swimming Club

Herne Bay Lifeguard and Swimming Club is a successful, competitive club that promotes community participation in the sport of swimming. Our main focus is on competitive swimming but we accommodate all ages and abilities and welcome everyone with an interest in the sport. The club is divided into four sections, three Junior and a Masters section for older teenagers and adults.

Children wishing to join are asked to come for a trial where their abilities and potential are assessed. If selected, they undergo a three-month trial period in the Feeder Squad or Swim Club.

Those wishing to join the competiive Senior Squad should have a proven track record with another club. Attendance, behaviour and improvement in technique are assessed and completion of a successful trial period leads to full acceptance into the club.

  23. The Club has taken the very difficult and regrettable decision to cancel this years Herne Bay Open due to be held on 6 November. The main reason was a lack of confirmed entries which meant we could not cover the cost of putting on the gala this year. Thank you to all clubs and individuals who had submitted their entries. All money received will of course be returned in full.

  24. There will be some parking available at the Leisure Centre. If this is full arrangements exist to park in the Northgate Road Car Park. The machines in this car park will give double slips to enable a refund to be claimed at the leisure centre. If you are arriving in Canterbury from the A2 (South side) of town you need to turn left at the Sturry Road roundabout. The car park is about 100 metres along from the roundabout

  26. A fantastic fun time was had by all who attended our first International Gala on 15/16 May in Calais. A big thank you to Dover Swimming Club for inviting us to attend along with clubs from Holland, Germany. Parades, dressing up, Discos made it a highlight of the year and one which we aim to repeat....

  28. We are sorry to have to let you know that Mick Geer passed away peacefully yesterday evening after a long illness.

    Mick was a member of RTW Monson SC for over fifty years and for many of those fifty years was Head Coach. He was a Hon Life Member of Kent ASA and served the Association for many years. He was Chairman of the County Swimming Committee and County Swimming Coach until this year. Our thoughts go out to his wife, Daphne, and the rest of his family at this sad time.
